# Drag and drop

Verify file authenticity quickly, by dragging and dropping files into the upload area. Best for quick verification of a few files that you have access to.

## Upload and verify files

Once you have your application set up, you can start verifying files immediately. The upload process is designed to be as simple as possible.

Open your application in the dashboard and upload your files: drag and drop them, paste them, or browse from your device. Uploading in the dashboard requires web upload to be enabled for your organization; if you do not see a place to upload, [contact us](https://pixelsystems.com/contact).

### Supported file types

Pixel supports a wide range of image formats including JPEG, PNG, [HEIC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Image_File_Format), and more. Drag and drop your files, paste them, or browse and select them from your device.

### Upload process

Each file shows upload progress while it transfers, and the dashboard takes you to the results when the uploads finish. Dashboard uploads need no API key: signing in is what authorises them.

### Attach your own reference

Before starting the analysis, you can add optional metadata fields: your own names and values, such as a claim ID or case number. They are stored with the job and shown with its details, so a result stays connected to the record your own system tracks it by. This is the same `metadata` that [Assess a file](https://pixelsystems.com/docs/api/assess) (`/v1/assess`) accepts, so jobs carry the same reference whichever way they were submitted.

## View verification results

After the verification process completes, you'll see detailed results that help you understand whether your file is authentic or has been manipulated.

Open a completed job in your application. The result shows the file, the headline assessment, and each signal that contributed to it.

### Understanding your results

The headline assessment is the verdict your workflow acts on. Each signal also reports separately: AI detection, manipulation detection, web matches, and photorealism. Signals can disagree, and seeing which one fired is what makes a verdict defensible rather than a single opaque number.

### Result interpretation

Read the signals together rather than in isolation. A file flagged as AI generated and manipulated is a stronger case than one signal alone, and a web match can explain where a file came from. The result also includes the file's metadata and the job's identifiers, the same values the API returns.

## Best practices

Follow these best practices to get the most out of Pixel Systems' no-code platform:

- Use high-quality, original files for best verification results
- Create separate applications for different projects or clients
- Review results carefully and consider the context of your use case
- Keep your account and organization information up to date
